Learn By Actually Doing
At Keuka College, your experiences outside the classroom are just as important as the ones that happen inside it. Our focus on experiential learning means that you'll graduate with a robust professional network and career-ready skills.
Field Period® is an experience that every Keuka College student completes annually. It lets you explore different majors and career options, understand what you want — and don't want — to do, and explore different parts of the country or the world. You design your Field Period® every year, so the choice is yours!
If you’re interested in traveling the world, there are plenty of opportunities for you at Keuka College. Opportunities include studying abroad, spending a semester at one of our partner universities in China or Vietnam, faculty-led Field Period® experiences, and cultural exploration trips that you design.
In addition to Field Period®, many academic programs offer you a semester-long, career-related work experience over the summer or coordinated around your schedule. Practica are usually full-time experiences in your senior year, designed to tie your coursework together and accelerate your job marketability.
Keuka College undergraduate students often have the opportunity to partner with faculty on research projects that their peers typically won’t see until graduate school. You’ll have the opportunity to work with faculty in their labs and clinics to investigate, explore, discover, publish, and present scientific research.
Our pre-professional medical and health-related programs all include the opportunity to explore a variety of different clinical and therapeutic settings. This helps you build skills, enhance your graduate school application, expand your professional network, and understand which aspects of professional practice are the best fit for you.
We believe that giving back is one of the most important aspects of a well-lived life. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to participate in meaningful experiences that inspire you, enrich the lives of others, and strengthen communities.
